Two kittens, one farmhouse, zero regrets

Buyers sometimes worry that two kittens will be twice the work. In practice a bonded pair is frequently less work than one, because they entertain, groom and tire each other out while their people are busy. Rosalie and Ari travelled to Sherbrooke together and have barely been apart since.

Their family runs a working farmhouse with long days outdoors, and the pair adapted by building their own routine: morning wrestling in the mudroom, a long nap in the window, and an evening shift on the couch. Neither cat has shown the separation-related crying that sometimes appears in single kittens left alone during the workday.

The practical notes from their family are worth passing on: two litter boxes from day one, separate feeding stations to stop resource guarding, and a single shared carrier for vet visits so neither travels alone. Three years in, both are grooming each other daily and neither has needed a behavioural intervention.
